„Three stings kill a man, seven a horse”, it is often said in the vernacular. This superstition still stampedes many people when they encounter hornets. But a hornet’s sting is less dangerous than a sting of a wasp or a bee. And hornets are quite useful animals. A hornet colony eats up to half a kilogramme of midges, flies, beetles or even wasps per day.
To protect these endangered and important animals, the BUND set up a special counselling concerning the hornets. The special counselling informs the people about the hornets and shows them how to deal with them.
